Hopper Hunts For Spring

We are still learning about spring in Pre-K and patiently waiting for more signs of spring!  We read the story “Hopper Hunts for Spring” and discussed the signs of spring and some spring animals.  Last week we made spring bunnies and this week we made chicks.  We did fork painting to make the body of our chicks- the fork made it look like feathers.  We then added the appropriate body parts to the chicks.  Check out our cute chicks on the hallway bulletin!

Story

Our sensory bin has changed into a center to plant flowers.  Students practice their language and communication skills by cooperatively planting flowers and watering them at this center.  There are also green strips of paper in this center for students to practice their cutting skills and add grass to their plants.  We also did some real planting in our room and are excited to watch our plants grow over the next month.

This week, Bentley School had a variety of events to honour and raise funds for the Humboldt Broncos.  In Pre-K we wore green on Monday, wore hats for a toonie on Tuesday and Wednesday and wore jersey’s on Thursday.  Thanks to everyone for participating!

Reminders:

  •  Kindergarten Registration is now open on Bentley School’s website: Kindergarten Registration
  • Visit BFPA for information on our upcoming community event on May 14, 2018 as well as to register for Pre-K for next year if you have not already done so.
  • As the weather is finally warming up, please have your child dressed for the weather everyday.

Thank you!

Mrs. Lawrence
