We have gotten into the Christmas spirit in Pre-K! We have been singing Christmas songs, reading Christmas stories and started Christmas crafts to decorate our room for the holiday season! We read these two stories to kick off the Christmas season in Pre-K:
We made a fun Christmas tree craft to hang in our classroom. Daily craft time is so important for us to develop our fine motor skills through painting, gluing, cutting, colouring, etc. It is also a great opportunity to display our work and communicate with our family what we have been doing in Pre-K. I love seeing students point out their piece of artwork on the hallway bulletin board- they are always so proud of what they have accomplished! To go with our Christmas trees that are hanging up we will soon be working on a whole class collaborative Christmas tree for our classroom bulletin board!
Thank you, parents, for packing snow gear for your child every day. This week we took advantage of the nice weather and got outside to play. Getting ready to go outside allows us to develop independence in getting ready and our fine motor skills also develop through doing up zippers and getting on all the rest of our snow gear! The playground provides such great opportunities for us to work on gross motor skills such as climbing, hopping, jumping and balancing and the kids all love getting outside to play!
