We have had a busy, fun week in Pre-K! We have been singing and crafting to get ready for our Christmas Celebration next week with our families. One of the projects we worked on this week was completing a collaborative Christmas tree. Each student got to decorate one green triangle to contribute to our Christmas tree. Parents, make sure to check it out when you are in our classroom next week!
We also were lucky to have the Grade 5’s come into our room to help us complete a special Christmas project we will share with you next week. The grade 5’s also read to us while they were in our classroom. What a special opportunity this was!
We enjoyed some new play opportunities this week. We have been playing lots of turn taking games and this week we had a new pizza game to try out. We also have a new balancing set that we get to use our problem solving skills to set it up in different ways. We then work on our balancing skills by walking on it in our bare feet! We also have ice in our water table that we get to try and get the treasures out by melting it with water. It is always so exciting for new things in our classroom!
“Pete the Cat Saves Christmas” was a fun Christmas story that we read this week. As with all Pete the Cat stories, this story had repetitive text that students can read along with.
- On Tuesday, December 18th for the T/TH class and Wednesday, December 19th for the M/W class we are inviting all parents into our room at 11:00 am to hear a few songs from the class and then share Christmas snacks with us.
- No School on Thursday, December 20th.
- First day back after Christmas break is Monday, January 7th for the M/W class and Tuesday, January 8th for the T/TH class.
See you next week for our last few days before the Christmas break!
