The last two weeks we have been doing St. Patrick’s Day activities in Pre-K. We learned a new song, we read stories and we completed fun crafts that were all about leprechauns, shamrocks, rainbows and a pot of gold. Have your child sing this leprechaun song with you and read them this story about leprechauns:
We had fun making St. Patrick’s Day crafts the last two weeks. We sent home a shamrock that we made by gluing on light and dark green tissue paper. We also made a leprechaun’s face for a craft and this craft included multiple steps. We first got to use a fork to paint his hair and beard. We then coloured his hat green, gold and black and cut it out and we drew on his eyes, nose and mouth. I am so proud of everyone for following directions so well and the amazing job they did cutting and drawing. Everyone’s skills have improved so much since the beginning of the year!
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week we had Green Day in Pre-K and celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. While we were out of the classroom a leprechaun visited our room and played a trick on us. He managed to sneak out before we could catch him. Make sure to ask your child what he did to our classroom and what treat he left behind for us! You can also read your child this story about a sneaky leprechaun:
- No School Thursday, March 14th (Teacher’s Convention)
- No School March 18th – 22nd (Spring Break)
I hope everyone has a lovely Spring Break and I can’t wait to see everyone back on March 25/26.
