We have been learning about all things Fall the last few weeks in Pre-K! We have read stories and sang songs about the leaves changing colours and falling to the ground and about apples that have also fallen to the ground. We also got outside for a beautiful Fall walk and observed the different coloured leaves, saw some still on trees and some on the ground. We also looked at trees with pine cones and needles and many students were excited to pick up and observe the pine cones.
We completed a few crafts to work on our fine motor skills. We made apples that we took home where we glued on red tissue paper or ripped red construction paper onto a paper plate. We also made Fall trees where we q tip painted the different Fall colours onto a tree.
We have been singing some great songs that not only engage us but also help us work on our early literacy and numeracy skills. Both of these songs have counting and rhyming which are both important early skills to be exposed to.
To end our week, we started to talk about Thanksgiving and what we are thankful for. We sang a great song and read a fun story to go along with this theme. We also made a Thankful Tree in our classroom. Make sure to ask your child what they are thankful for! We will continue with this theme into next week.
