We finished up our bear unit this month and are now all very familiar with some great books about bears. I have linked two books below that your child will be very familiar with and be able to read the story along with you. Books with repetitive text are so important for early learners. I love to see how excited and proud they are when they can read along!
Below are pictures of two fun crafts we completed related to our bear unit. We all loved painting our bears fur with a fork. We also were able to learn about facial features through this craft. Our bear puppet allowed us to discuss animals and colours and we had to follow multiple directions to complete this craft. I hope your child was able to show you their bear puppet and how they can retell the story “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” with it!
It is hard to believe that we will already be into December next week! We have some fun Christmas activities planned in Pre-K and we are excited to celebrate the holiday season all month long! Make sure to ask your child about the new dramatic play center in the classroom and what their favourite thing to do in it is (baking cookies, decorating the tree, wrapping gifts, dressing up, etc). Make sure to watch Fresh Grade next week for a picture of your child participating in this center!
- Pre-K Parent Teacher Interviews are Wednesday, December 4th and Thursday, December 5th. Here is the link to sign up, if you have not already done so: Pre-K PTI sign up If these days/times do not work for you, please reach out to me so we can arrange for an alternate time.
- On Tuesday, December 17th for the T/TH class and Wednesday, December 18th for the M/W class, we will be inviting parents into our classroom at 11:00 am to hear a few songs and enjoy a treat with us. We can’t wait to show you the songs that we have been practicing!
