Good morning, Pre-K! I have another story to share with you that is about caterpillars and butterflies again. I hope you enjoy it!
We saw so many different colours in the butterflies and flowers in this story. I wonder if you remember our rainbow colours song? See if you can sing it!
I have a butterfly craft for you to try out. Using your “pinchy” or “alligator” fingers, colour two coffee filters with markers. Then use a pipe cleaner to twist them together and become your antennae!
Let’s work on our ball skills! There are a variety of ways you could develop ball skills at home, inside and outside. If you are inside you could use a laundry basket to toss balls into to practice your underhand throw (you can even use rolled up socks!). If you are headed outside, can you practice tossing and catching a ball with a parent or sibling?
Mother’s Day/quality family time activities:
Baking with your child- we thought this could be a fun activity to do on Mother’s Day or just a fun family activity for any day! Baking is a great opportunity for preschoolers to develop early numeracy skills such as measuring and counting. It is also a great opportunity to make observations and predictions. We have two tried and true recipes below.
If you would like to do a keepsake craft with your child, here is an example of an easy craft that you just need paper and paint for.
Shape Monster Game:
Miss Starla has a great Shape Monster game to play with us to practice our colours and shapes! Watch the video of her playing and then create your own game! We will play this game on one of our Google Meets next week!
I hope you have a great weekend! I will send out the Google Meet links for next week on Friday!
