Classroom updates!

Hello again, everyone! It is hard to believe we are almost into December already! Time has been flying in Pre-K and we have been having so much building upon friendships, playing and exploring together.

Last week was our “Rock Your Mocs” Day activity so we completed activities around Indigenous culture. We read two stories: Awasis and the World-Famous Bannock and The Sharing Circle. We each decorated our own set of moccasins on “Rock Your Mocs” Day. The Sharing Circle was also a great story to help us learn about listening to one another and being kind to one another. We have our own “talking stick” in our classroom and have been participating in our own sharing circles where we start the day by saying how we are feeling and end the day by sharing our favourite part of the day.

Here are some photos of our moccasins as well as the owls we made after reading The Sharing Circle.

This last week we finished up our mini animal unit and read two books by Nick Bland: The Very Cranky Bear and The Very Sleepy Bear. Both stories were also great to further our discussions about how we are feeling when we come to school in the morning. This week we each made a fox that we took home.
